About AntliaAntlia was named by Abbé Nicolas Louis de Lacaille during his stay at the Cape of Good Hope between 1751 and 1752. Shortened from its original name of Antlia Pneumatica, it was named in honor of Richard Boyle's recent invention of the air pump.
